Congratulations Orli and Rob!

So as you know me and Orli don’t like to do things by halves… This year has held so much for us, for reasons which will become even clearer soon too. My wedding day in July was the best day of my life, I didn’t stop smiling all day and haven’t stopped smiling since! It’s so lovely that the first wedding me and Craig attended as husband and wife was Orli and Robs. On the plane to Crete I thought about all the build up, the many hours spent crafting, creating and perfecting, dreaming of the perfect beach wedding. Orli and Rob were brave, I don’t know many people who would get hitched without seeing their venue first! I know Orli is extremely grateful to Annika, her wedding planner, at Moments for helping her vision come to life.

Well I can honestly say it was just beautiful. I’ve never been to a beach wedding, but slipping off your heels to feel the sand on your toes, and listening to the waves lap the shore made the perfect romantic setting for a wedding. WEB RES BLOG

None of the details had been forgotten about, from the rose petal confetti in little organza bags, to beautiful order of service fans Orli had designed entirely herself. (I know this as I was frequently called upon to review and approve) There were fantastic little touches like the little paintbrushes for our sandy toes! The whole thing looked effortlessly beautiful and I was so excited to get snapping away! Me and Orli had an agreement that although we would both have professional photographers for our day, we would still shoot a few images as guests of the day. This way there was no pressure (really?! what were we thinking?) and we could just enjoy the day. Well I can tell you I felt the pressure! After the fantastic job Orli did at our wedding, I wanted more than anything to return the favour. I shouldn’t have worried really as there was just so many beautiful moments to photograph. There was a pink and duck egg theme that ran through the whole day, filled with little white starfish, blue mason jars, candles, lanterns and fairy lights.

The Ceremony itself was very emotional. I’m normally quite good at weddings, not a crier, but this time something just tipped me over the edge. As the music began, the tears came rolling thick and fast down my cheeks. It was a lovely instrumental piece as everyone walked in and seeing how emotional and in love Rob and Orli were when they first saw each other and as they read their vows was beautiful to behold. Seeing parents cry always gets me though and sure enough the tears began again. As we threw the confetti and cheered and the sun began to set, the setting was breathtaking, The sunset was beautiful, and everyone was so relaxed! You can’t quite beat drinking bubbly on the beach! I managed to sneak a little Bridal portrait in as I couldn’t resist the most beautiful Golden hour light! Orli looked beautiful in her ballgown dress.

We had a beautiful meal under twinkling fairy lights before Orli and Rob cut the cake and enjoyed their first dance together . I particularly love their first dance song and the lyrics by Kodaline:

“You make my heart feel like it’s summer
When the rain is pouring down.
You make my whole world feel so right when it’s wrong.
That’s how I know you are the one’

After dinner, we moved onto the beach ready for some serious dance moves. Again, totally love the feeling of dancing on the sand and i’m not gonna lie, the longest ever version of the Macarena was danced to and ashamedly not a single move was missed out. We danced all night under the stars and there was a beautiful sparkler send off for Orli and Rob as they left us just before the evening drew to a close. Orli and Rob congratulations, your wedding day was absolutely beautiful and I was honoured to be part of it. I hope you like the photos!
